Search Engine Optimisation

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimisation and helps to get your website ranked on the first page of Google so you are easily found by potential customers. At SME Digital, our aim is to get you on the first page for your particular services.

Local SEO

Our aim is simple: we want customers to find you through their searches. For this reason, our focus is to create an SEO-friendly website with all information in one place so when someone searches for a “specific service near me” they’ll be able to find you.

Companies we have helped with their online presence and growing their business

All about SEO

SEO is a form of marketing that helps to rank your website on the first page of search engine results, leading to an increase in organic traffic to your website thus a capturing a high number of leads.

Without going into too much detail, and confusing the heck out of you, some of the strategies we use are :

1) Using keywords in headings, subheadings and text content

2) Optimising images with alt tags

3) Getting you to create social media accounts and linking them to your site

4) Including links back to your own blog post pages (not just homepage) called internal linking

5) Regularly updating your content to tell search engines you are actively working on your site.

6) Finding opportunities for you through our vast network of designers, developer and social media strategists to create connections and backlinks with businesses in a similar industry/niche.

If you’ve ever worked with a blogger or content creator, you have probably been told that your success depends on two things: the quality of your writing and the number of visitors to your site.

To get more traffic to your site, there are lots of things you can do – from creating an email list to getting involved in social media. (Ask us about these)

But one  of the biggest things that we do is use on-page SEO techniques to help you get ranking.

There’s no special trick for doing on-page SEO; it’s just about making sure that all of the words and phrases that people might search for when looking for something like you services or products show up on your pages.

This includes optimising titles, subtitles, headlines, image file names and captions as well as including your key words in your text.

Off-page SEO is a way of promoting your content without the need of posting on social media or commenting on other people’s posts. It can be done by getting links from websites that have higher rank and relevance to yours, writing guest articles for high ranking blogs in your field, submitting your website to article directories, and more. The goal is to get as many quality backlinks as possible so you can get better search engine rankings.

Back linking in simple terms is when someone links to another web page from their own webpage. The more of these backlinks that are made, typically the higher a web page will rank in Google’s search engine results pages (SERPS). This isn’t an exact science though- if someone has a lot of high-quality backlinks but low quality content, they may still fall down the rankings ladder even with all those good links pointing towards them!

Backlinks essentially tells Google that you are a real company, working with other actual companies, providing great services/products.

SME will write blogs relevant to your work and industry. Using blogs, we will target key services or products that you want to get ranking for.

The blogs we write will always be aimed first at being readable for humans and then search engines. We will ensure that when someone lands on that content, its well written and engaging.

It’s impossible to give a figure that applies to all websites, and the best that an SEO can do is give a best-guess estimate based on analyzing a website’s current performance and the proposed strategy.

There’s no getting away from the fact that SEO takes time. Google (and other search engines) want to show the best result for any given search query, and it takes time to deserve to rank. You’ve got to earn top search visibility. But with the right strategy in place, 6 to 12 months is a long enough period to be able to see the impact of SEO efforts and to be able to justify ongoing investment.

All about local SEO

Local SEO is about optimizing your site for the location it is in. For example, if you are in a certain suburb or city, then you would optimise for people looking for things in exact area vs SEO whose main focus is not location.

A local SEO strategy will help your business be found more easily in your local area, for the specific products or services you offer.

Just a small fact: 92% of searchers will pick businesses on the first page of local search results. (Source: SEO Expert)

GMB is the acronym for Google Business Profile , which is Google’s way of helping you manage your business on their platform. We can control things like how your company appears in search results and what customers will see when they click on it.

Google My Business allows you to list your company’s location on Google Maps and local search results, thus telling google that you provide these services/products in this specific area. We may include important information about your business, such as opening/closing hours, contact information, or a link to your website. A completed GMB listing can significantly improve a company’s local SEO ranking. It establishes an immediate first impression for any user who searches for a company like yours.

Our charges for local SEO start at $850 depending on a few factors such as number of products/services and the areas you want to rank for.

We use SEO tools and google analytics to track the engagement for your website via GBP or organic search. These reports are provided to you monthly.

Local SEO can sometimes be faster to rank for than SEO, giving us a bit of an advantage. We’ve had customers who have ranked within a month and others who have taken upto 8 months. It depends on a number of factors which we discuss on your first call. Book a SEO consult for your business to take the first step

All about geo-targeted location searches

Getting found online in your local area

Local search is booming and with it, a lot of opportunities for local businesses. 4 out of 5 people use Google Search to find this information – which usually focuses on product/service availability, directions to the business and the reviews they find.

Up to 18% of local online searches end up working with the business they have looked up within 24 hours. Imagine that!!

Location targeted SEO with an eye towards sending customers directly through your doors/business is not only effective at telling people what services you offer but also providing them easy access to the information so it becomes quicker than ever before.

Local SEO is all about location, location and location.

We optimise all our content to tell search engines that you sell these services and products in this location.

Our Process

How we work and what our workflow looks like

We first understand your goals

We first understand your business vision, target audience, end goals, and what you would want to achieve through SEO. It could be to get ranking for certain products or certain areas.

We gather all the information from you that we would need to work on your SEO such as your login details, GMB(Google my Business) access and top competitors .

The beginning: SEO

We then create a strategy

We then get down to creating the SEO strategy for your business, for the next 12 months.

We start with a keyword, location, and competition analysis. This gives us an insight into how fast we can get you ranking for certain keywords as well as the strategies we will have to employ moving forward.

Getting down to the basics: Content is "king" and "queen"

On-page SEO

The first thing we do is on-page SEO which means we use your current content and optimise it for SEO using our keyword and location analysis.

We also do a website analysis and give you tips on how to make the design more user-friendly, ensuring that the leads landing on your website have high conversion rates as well.

The last thing here is we then create content that is engaging, relevant to your products/services and industry and add it onto your website.

Off-page SEO

We then get working on your off-page SEO. This includes backlink creation, working on your GMB, guest posting and directory listings within your business.

Some of this will vary and is dependent on what package you are working on us with.

Monthly Reports

When we chat to you about SEO, we strongly recommend that you commit for a minimum of 12 months to the service. SEO takes time and a lot of it is drip-feeding information to search engines to tell them about who you are and what your business does.

CONGRATULATIONS! You are now ranking in search engines.

Continued and ongoing SEO

You are now ranking for certain keywords and areas. Congratulations. But the work is not complete.

Once you are ranking, it’s important to continue with SEO and the same practices to stay ahead of your competitors. Which means that everything that we did to get you ranking, we continue doing to keep you ranking

Don’t lose your momentum

Stay ahead of the game and stay on top. Give your potential customers the right information to find you. This includes keeping all the information on your website relevant and upto date.
